Yemen Military Camp Explosion Kills 12 Soldiers in Aden

Kathmandu. A powerful explosion at a military camp in the southern port city of Aden, Yemen on Thursday has resulted in the deaths of 12 soldiers and injured many others.

A security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that the explosion occurred at a camp operated by the pro-government Giants Brigade in the Al-Mimmada area of Aden.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the explosion was caused by an electrical circuit short within the camp's ammunition storage facility, the official said.

According to sources, the fire caused by the circuit short spread to the depot, leading to a series of explosions within the storage area.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing fire and thick smoke emanating from the camp, followed by continuous explosions.

No official information has been released about the incident so far. Details regarding the extent of the damage have also not been provided.
