CPN (UML) Leader Bhattarai Accuses 'Populists' of Attacking National Integrity

Kathmandu. CPN (UML) leader Bishal Bhattarai has accused 'populist' forces of attacking the country's geographical integrity and sovereignty. He expressed this view while speaking at a program organized by the CPN (UML) Organization Department. Leader Bhattarai claimed that the attacks that have been happening on the party have now started targeting the country itself. 

He said that the statement given by the Prime Minister standing at the rostrum of the parliament was like one given by an aggressor. He commented that Prime Minister Balendra Shah's statement was as if he had announced, 'We are aggressors and we will occupy others' land'. 

He said, 'Even now, such attacks against our party are continuing. Now, as if attacks on the party were not enough, populists have come out to attack the country itself. They are making statements that raise questions about the country's geographical integrity and sovereignty. Standing at the rostrum of the parliament, the Prime Minister is openly announcing, 'We are aggressors, we will occupy others' territory.' In such a situation, this program, which is going to be held under the chief hospitality of our party's respected chairman, is of special importance. Especially, this is his first speech in this program of the Organization Department after being arrested. In this sense, this is an important platform to present UML's perspectives in the context of national politics.'

Bhattarai said that the recent political developments and the arrest of UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli were an attack on the party.
