One Arrested in Chitwan for Illegal Cryptocurrency Trading

Chitwan. Police have taken under control one person in Chitwan for accumulating and trading illegal intangible currency (cryptocurrency) using mobile and various electronic devices.

The arrested is 29-year-old Pappu Kumar Yadav, a permanent resident of former Sangamadhukarahi Village Development Committee Ward No. 7 in Dhanusha, currently residing in a rented room in Chitrasen Tole, Bharatpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 10, Chitwan.

District Police Office Chitwan had received secret information that Yadav was accumulating and trading cryptocurrency using applications named Binance and Bybit from his rented room. Based on that information, a police team deployed at around 6:30 PM on Jestha 15 found him.

Upon searching his body and rented room in accordance with the law, police recovered 17 touchscreen mobile phones of various companies and 3 keypad mobile phones. Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bhusan Yadav of the District Police Office Chitwan informed that Yadav, who has been arrested, is being investigated in custody after extending his detention from the Chitwan District Court for the offense related to intangible currency.
