Artists to Perform at 'Grand Public Awareness Cultural 2083'

Kathmandu. Khuman Adhikari, Sushmita Ji Bishwa, Narayan Khanal, Naveen Poudel, Gita Bhattarai and about two dozen other artists will perform on the same stage. Many artists will entertain the audience through various cultural programs at the 'Grand Public Awareness Cultural 2083' to be held on Saturday afternoon.

The organizers informed through a press release that the program, organized with the main slogan 'Let's Preserve Heritage, Culture and Civilization', aims to promote Bhajan culture and conserve endangered folk arts and culture.

The program will be held at Tri-Jyoti Secondary School located at Kapan Kharibot, Ward 12 of Budhanilkantha Municipality, and is under the patronage of Budhanilkantha Municipality.

Program coordinator Lokdohori singer Naveen Poudel said that a play will also be staged on topics such as drug abuse, communicable and non-communicable diseases, misuse of social media, violence against women, gender-based violence, and control of tobacco products.

The program, supported by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Cooperatives and the Tourism Office Kathmandu under the same ministry, will also feature performances by artists Kabita Khatri, Swikriti Poudel, Phutti Sherpa, Sumitra Koirala, Asha Lama, Radhika Dhakal, Bhimsen Khatiwada, Suman Thapa Magar, Sindhulikalagar, Rajendra Giri (Gundruk Sadher) magician, Shridevi Devkota, Uma Bidari, Nishchal Silwal, Sanjay Khadka, Nisha Khadka, Sapana Sunam, Punam Basnyal, Devi Hamal, Rekha Lama, Sushma Lama, Mukunda Ghimire, and Rozi Kumal, according to the press release.

The program, co-organized by Rastriya Lok Bhajan Chudka Sanrakshan Pratishthan and organized by Swikriti Event Management, will also feature various endangered folk bhajans.

Individuals contributing to various sectors of society, from artists to journalists, will be honored at the program.
