Finance Minister Presents Ambitious Slogans in Budget 2083/84

Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has presented the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084, which includes ambitious slogans similar to previous budgets. In previous fiscal years, slogans were criticized for not being implemented. The new 'Balen Government', which came to power by sidelining old political parties, has also brought slogans in a traditional manner.

The budget has put forward dozens of welfare-oriented slogans, making social justice, production growth, and digital transformation its core basis. There are many slogans, especially in the area of social security. The slogan for social security allowance is 'Those who can, let go; those who cannot, join'. The government has put forward the slogan, encouraging economically capable citizens to voluntarily give up state social security benefits.

This budget has re-remembered the slogan 'Improve the standard of living of the people' from 75 years ago. The Finance Minister has given the slogan 'Mission Mode' for budget implementation. Similarly, to facilitate investors, the 'Investment Express' campaign has been announced to implement an automated route system within three months. The budget has given special priority to 'First Loss Recovery' for the support of small entrepreneurs and 'Business-Friendly Tax Policy' for the improvement of the tax system.

In the tourism sector, the government has set a goal to make the country a center for health tourism by announcing 'Visit Nepal Year 2085' and 'Nepal Health Year 2027'. Similarly, slogans have also been announced to develop strategic trekking routes such as 'Shaligram Path', 'Nirvana Path', and 'Dhanfe Route' for the high hilly areas. To modernize the agricultural sector, a plan has been put forward to transform it into a 'Farmer-Centric Service System'.

It is mentioned in the budget that 'Nation Free from Street Children' will be operated for children and 'Social Transformation Campaign' will be conducted to end social evils in society. The budget has also included the 'Clean Toilet Campaign' for the improvement of educational institutions. In the environment and infrastructure sectors, the government will operate 'Dust-Free and Pothole-Free' roads, 'River Free from Drainage Campaign', and 'Arsenic-Free Terai Campaign' to improve drinking water in the Terai.

For good governance, the 'Hello Sarkar' mechanism has been strengthened and a 'Zero Tolerance Policy' has been adopted in the capital market. For Nepalis living abroad, it has been announced to improve citizenship-related provisions with the slogan 'Once a Nepali, Always a Nepali'.
