Landless and Unorganized Residents March Against State Actions

Kathmandu. In the context of Republic Day, landless squatters and unorganized residents have organized a 'Landless Squatter March'.

They have staged a street protest against the state's insensitive bulldozer terror and eviction without alternatives.

Participants in the march chanted slogans including 'Long live the Republic! Down with GUN-tantra (gun-rule)!!'. The march was jointly organized by the United National Squatters, Citizens' Movement, and Genji Movement Alliance.

Protesting against being removed from their ancestral land without alternatives, their march started from Maitighar and proceeded through Bijulibazar to New Baneshwor. The protesters demanded that the state immediately manage them with appropriate alternatives, stating that the state has treated them inhumanely.
