This investment round was led by Altimeter Capital, Greenoaks, Dragoneer, and Sequoia Capital. With this, Anthropic has surpassed OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, in terms of market capitalization. In the latest round of fundraising, which ended in March, OpenAI's valuation reached $852 billion.

Under the leadership of Anthropic's co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei, the company is rapidly expanding in the AI sector. The company's CFO, Krishna Rao, said that the new investment will help expand research and bring Claude to more workplaces. Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI researchers, Anthropic has become one of the leading companies in the AI sector in Silicon Valley. The company's Claude chatbot was released in 2023 and is now considered one of the popular AI models in the world. In March, the company stated that more than 1 million new users were registering for Claude daily.

However, along with rapid success, Anthropic is also facing some challenges. In particular, the company's dispute with the administration of US President Donald Trump is in the news. The US administration had a supply chain risk meeting with Anthropic, citing the company's failure to provide full access to its equipment for military purposes. Meanwhile, Anthropic has also released a new version of Claude, 'Opus 4.8'. The company says it is a minor but clear improvement compared to the previous version.

According to analysts, Anthropic, OpenAI, and SpaceX are companies that may be listed on the stock market in the near future, and they are estimated to be among the largest IPOs in history. J.R. Ritter, a retired professor at the University of Florida, said that Anthropic has created great market enthusiasm due to the widespread use of Claude in software coding. According to him, some successful companies in the AI sector have the potential to make very large profits.
