Four Robbers Arrested with Stolen Gold Chain Inside Moving Bus

Lalitpur. Police have arrested four robbers with a gold chain inside a moving bus going from Koteshwor towards Balkhu. The police took them under control after receiving information that a gold chain worn by a young woman was snatched and looted inside the bus on the evening of Jestha 13. As soon as the incident was reported, a police team from the District Police Complex Lalitpur and the subordinate Sanepa Police Station was mobilized. The police team stopped the bus on the Ring Road section in Sanepa, Lalitpur, and searched the passengers. During the search, the police succeeded in apprehending four people involved in the robbery with the stolen gold chain. Police said that looking at the old records of the arrested individuals, they have been involved in theft cases before. According to the police, the arrested individuals include 29-year-old Janak Tamang, a resident of Baudha, Kathmandu, originally from Lishankhupakar Rural Municipality-7, Sindhupalchok district, and 30-year-old Simon alias Man Kumar Tamang, originally from the same place and currently residing in Kalanki. Similarly, 25-year-old Umesh Muktan, a resident of Harisiddhi, originally from Konjyosom Rural Municipality-5, Lalitpur, and 30-year-old Arjun Tamang, a resident of Hariharbhawan, originally from Namobuddha Municipality-7, Kavrepalanchok, have also been arrested. Police have recovered one gold chain weighing 1 tola and 9 lal, which was looted, from their possession. All four arrested individuals are currently kept at the District Police Complex Lalitpur and further investigation into the case of theft has been initiated, the police said.
