Two Ward Chairs Elected from Nepali Congress Lose Seats

Kathmandu. The posts of two ward chairs elected from the Nepali Congress have been snatched. The posts of Ravindra KC and Padam Bahadur Bist, who were elected as candidates for the post of ward chair in the local level elections of 079, have been snatched.

KC was the ward chair of ward number 2 of Musikot Municipality under Lumbini Province, while Bist was the ward chair of Dhurkot Rural Municipality ward number 3 under Lumbini Province.

The Election Commission has issued a notice stating that the posts of both ward chairs are vacant after the Nepali Congress informed the Election Commission with the decision of the Central Working Performance Committee that they had joined other parties.

There is a provision that if a local level people's representative abandons the party from which they were elected and joins another party, the post elected by the concerned person will be vacant.
