Woman Sent to Prison for Sexually Exploiting Minor in Spa

Kathmandu. A woman has been sent to prison for remand on charges of engaging a minor in sexual activities after luring her to work in a spa. 

According to the District Police Complex Kathmandu, the defendant in a human trafficking and smuggling case, Anita Bhandari, 48, originally from Chainpur Municipality-7, Sankhuwasabha, and currently residing in Tokha Municipality-5, Kathmandu, was sent to prison for remand on Monday. Bhandari was operating a 'Spa Park' in Tokha. A police team deployed from the District Police Complex Kathmandu rescued a 16-year-old minor during a monitoring operation. It was revealed that the minor was lured to work in the spa and engaged in sexual activities, leading to Bhandari's arrest and investigation into a human trafficking and smuggling case. Based on the court's order in the case registered by the complainant, identified as a minor whose name has been changed to 26 Paris (98), the defendant Bhandari has been decided to be sent to custody for remand. Further legal action is underway in this matter, informed Police Superintendent Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, Spokesperson and Information Officer of the District Police Complex Kathmandu.
