Two Key Bills Presented in Sudurpashchim Provincial Assembly

Dhangadhi. Two important bills were presented in Monday's Sudurpashchim Provincial Assembly meeting. Minister for Social Development Meghraj Khadka tabled the 'Bill to Protect and Manage the Badghar and Bhalmansa System of Sudurpashchim Province' and the 'Bill Related to Tikapur Science and Technology University'.

The government has brought this bill to give legal recognition to the Badghar and Bhalmansa system, which has been in practice among the Tharu community of the western Terai for centuries. During the zero hour of the meeting, MPs demanded impartial investigation and action against the culprits in the beating incident during the Bajura and Humla border dispute and the suicide case of teacher Baldev Dhami of Dadeldhura.

Similarly, MPs drew the government's attention to complete the stalled Gurji Dam irrigation project in Kailali, upgrade Tikapur Hospital to a Provincial Hospital, and bring a concrete plan to control erosion of the Karnali River. They also demanded that the process of constructing the permanent provincial capital designated in Godavari be expedited.

MP Man Bahadur Dhami had demanded a 'ruling' from the Speaker, stating that the government had not responded to the issues raised in the house. In the meeting, 9 MPs including Vikram Singh Dhami, Khushiram Dagora Tharu, and Ghanshyam Chaudhary expressed their views on contemporary issues.
