Former Bagmati Province Speaker Criticizes Political Changes

Hetauda. Former Speaker of Bagmati Province, Bhuwan Kumar Pathak, has stated that the political changes in the country over the last 35 years have not been able to solve the basic problems of the people. Criticizing the political leadership, he warned that if political parties do not correct themselves in time, a serious crisis will arise in the country.

Speaking in his address during the budget session that began on Monday, Pathak commented that the changes from 2046 BS to the present (Democracy, People's Democracy, and Republic) have also failed to meet public expectations. He stated that the events of Bhadra 23 and 24 were a form of rebellion.

Pathak termed the youth movement on Jestha 23 (Gen Z Revolt) as the first organic and digital revolution in Nepal's history. He said that there was no influence of any foreign power in that movement.

'In the last 35 years, have we truly solved the people's problems? Have we stopped youth migration?' he questioned, 'There is extreme public anger towards political parties and leaders, and a situation has been created where honorable members are afraid to even travel by bus wearing their party logos.'
