Nepali Film 'Elephants in the Fog' Team Honored After Cannes Success

Kathmandu. The team of the Nepali film 'Elephants in the Fog', which returned home after making history at France's prestigious Cannes Film Festival, has been honored. The team, which returned to Nepal after winning the Jury Prize with an excellent performance at the Cannes Festival, was welcomed and honored by government ministers at Tribhuvan International Airport this morning. Minister for Communications and Information Technology Dr. Vikram Timilsina and Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadak Raj Poudel (Ganesh) had reached the airport early in the morning to welcome the team. In the welcome program organized at the airport, film director Avinash Bikram Shah, producer Anup Poudel, and actor Pushpa Lama were honored with garlands and khadas. The ministers praised the film team for succeeding in making the country's name known to the world. Being selected in the 'Un Certain Regard' section of the Cannes Film Festival, considered the most prestigious in the world, was already a great achievement for Nepali cinema. Moreover, after this film succeeded in winning the Jury Prize amidst excellent competition, Nepali cinema has created a new history on the world stage.
