Actress Rukmini Vasanth Expresses Outrage Over AI-Generated Fake Videos and Photos

Hyderabad. South Indian film industry's popular actress Rukmini Vasanth has become enraged over fake videos and photos created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. 

She has informed that legal and cybercrime action is being initiated against those who create and spread AI-generated images by associating them with her name on social media.

Rukmini clarified this matter by sharing a note on her X account on Saturday. She wrote, 'My team and I have seen some AI-generated pictures on social media, claiming to be mine. I want to clarify that those pictures are completely fake and artificial. Creating and spreading such edited pictures is an extremely irresponsible act. This is also a big violation of someone's privacy.'

In her note, she further wrote, 'We have taken this matter very seriously. Legal and cybercrime action is being initiated against those who create such content and spread it on the internet. I appeal to all citizens and fans not to share or promote such content.' 

Previously, many famous celebrities from Bollywood and South have fallen victim to AI-generated deepfake content, including well-known names like Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, and Keerthy Suresh.

Rukmini Vasanth, who fell victim to fake pictures, is a rapidly advancing actress in the South film industry. She has made a strong identity in Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu films. She took her first step in 2011 with the Kannada film 'Birbal'. 

However, she gained real recognition from both parts of the film 'Sapta Sagaradaache Ello', released in 2023. Her performance in this film was highly appreciated by the audience and critics, and she also won the Filmfare Critics Best Actress Award.

After that, she worked in 'Bagheera', 'Bhairathi Ranagal', and the Telugu film 'Appudo Ippudo Eppudo'. In 2025, she appeared in the Tamil films 'Ais' and 'Madarasi'. Similarly, the released 'Kantara: Chapter 1' has proven to be the biggest and most successful film of her career so far. 

Rukmini will also be seen in a lead role in actor Yash's much-anticipated film 'Toxic' in the coming days.
