Traffic Police Fines 1,841 Drivers in Kathmandu Valley in 24 Hours

Kathmandu. Traffic police have taken action against one thousand 841 vehicle drivers in the 'check' conducted at various places in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours. Revenue of Rs 407,9501 has been collected from the action. Traffic police chief and Senior Superintendent of Police Navraj Adhikari informed that action was taken against a total of one thousand 841 drivers including 107 driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI), 192 in ride-sharing, 183 for running red lights, 126 for speeding, 41 for lane violations, 75 on sidewalks, 149 for horn prohibition, 77 for one-way violations, and 891 for other offenses during the check conducted until this morning. He said, "Action has been taken against one thousand 841 drivers who violated traffic rules in the Kathmandu Valley in a 24-hour period. A total revenue of Rs 407,9501 has been deposited from the action." Traffic police have urged that driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is illegal and punishable, and if there is suspicion of a driver consuming alcohol or drugs, passengers should immediately report to the nearest police office, the traffic control room's hotline number 103, and the police's hotline number 100.
