US Secretary of State Marco Rubio Arrives in India

New Delhi. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in India for the first time on Saturday. He arrived in India a week after the summit with China.

Rubio has started his four-day India visit from Kolkata, India. Where he is scheduled to visit the headquarters of Missionaries of Charity of the late Mother Teresa.

After this program, Rubio will go to New Delhi and meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the US State Department has informed. Rubio is also scheduled to participate in the meeting of the foreign ministers of Quad—Australia, India, Japan, and the United States of America.

Meanwhile, China has been expressing doubts about Quad for a long time. Earlier, US President Trump had made a state visit to China last week, where he made some announcements and agreements and praised the welcome received from President Xi Jinping.

Rubio, who advocates for close relations with India, said in an interview with journalists that this visit will be his first visit to India in his life. His wife Janet is also accompanying Rubio on his India visit, and they are scheduled to visit the world-famous monument of love, the Taj Mahal, located in Agra, India.
