Putin's China Visit Echoes Trump's Welcome Amid Global Tensions

Beijing. Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China last week has been compared to the welcome given to US President Donald Trump during his visit. All scenes, including children standing in welcome, military honors, cannon salutes, and marching bands, appeared almost the same in the visits of both presidents. 

Through these two high-level visits within a few days, Beijing has sought to send a message that world leaders are eager to meet President Xi Jinping, it has been analyzed.

It is said that Putin has a tea meeting with Xi at the special headquarters of the Chinese Communist Party on Wednesday. During the visit, Xi Jinping commented that the world is at risk of returning to the 'law of the jungle'. This statement has been linked to the growing war tensions in West Asia. Xi said that he should cooperate with Putin to build a more just world governance system.

However, he has not criticized Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Beijing has so far refused to openly condemn the invasion. 

Putin has indicated that he wants to discuss the construction of a large natural gas pipeline with China. 

It is said that Putin has given Xi the message that Russia is ready to become a reliable energy supplier at a time when energy supply problems are increasing in the world due to the war with Iran.
