Army Chief National Tennis Tournament-2083 Begins

Kathmandu. The "Army Chief National Tennis Tournament-2083", organized by the Nepali Army and technically supported by the Nepal Tennis Association, has started today. The tournament was inaugurated on Monday by the Nepali Army's Baladhikrit Rathi Pradip Jang KC.

With the objective of contributing to the development of tennis and producing players, the Nepali Army has been organizing this tournament since 2078 BS. This year, 218 players from 13 clubs are participating. The organizer informed that the competition will be held in 13 events under various age groups and categories.

The competition includes men's and women's singles and doubles in the open category, while in the veterans' category, there will be singles and doubles in the 35+, 45+, 55+, and 65+ age groups, and singles in the 70+ age group.

Officials from the Nepal Olympic Committee, representatives from various tennis clubs, high-ranking officials of the Nepali Army, media personnel, and players were present at the inauguration ceremony of the tournament, which will run until Jestha 12.

The tournament is expected to significantly contribute to increasing interest in tennis at the national level, identifying new talent, and promoting sports culture.
