Iran Warns of Retaliation Against Energy Infrastructure

Tehran. Iran has warned that other energy centers in West Asia will also be targeted if attacks on its energy infrastructure continue. According to Iran's semi-official news agency Fars News Agency, quoting an unnamed military source, Iran has stated that it will consider regional oil and gas structures owned or invested in by the US or Israel as legitimate military targets.

According to the source, if there are further attacks on Iran's energy centers, all oil and gas infrastructure related to America and Israel will be targeted. In a statement issued on Monday, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that in response to Israel's attack on the petrochemical center in Mahshahr, missile attacks were carried out on energy infrastructure in Israel's Haifa region.

The IRGC accused Israel of starting a dangerous game and warned that the scope of the conflict could now spread to energy structures throughout the region.

According to another semi-official news agency of Iran, Tasnim News Agency, the Karun Petrochemical Company in the Mahshahr Special Economic Zone in southwestern Iran has come under attack. It has been reported that there has been no human casualties so far, and the extent of physical damage is being assessed.

A video released by Fars News claimed that the Iranian missile, allegedly fired towards Haifa, had messages written in English, Hebrew, and Persian saying 'You will regret this'.

Previously, during wars with Israel and America, Iran had targeted the energy centers of US-allied Gulf nations. This caused oil production and exports to be affected, and the price of crude oil in the international market to surge.
