Rautahat Police Arrest 5 Fugitives Convicted in Various Cases

Rautahat. The District Police Office Rautahat has arrested 5 defendants who were absconding after being convicted in various cases by the court. They were arrested on Baisakh 30 and 31 as part of a special campaign launched by the police for the execution of the verdict.

Those arrested include Niraj Yadav of Gadhimai-9 in a drug marijuana case, Rajesh Mahato of Molaipur-2 in a murder attempt case, Dhanraj Pandit of Vrindavan-7 and Nagina Saha Sonar of Chandrapur-8 in a check bounce case. Similarly, police have also taken Bishweshwor Mahato of Madhav Narayan N.Pa.-6, who was sentenced for theft, under control.

Among those arrested, Niraj Yadav was sentenced to 2 months imprisonment and a fine of 2 thousand, and Bishweshwor Mahato was sentenced to 8 months imprisonment and a fine of 5 thousand. The police have stated that the fine amount will be recovered from the other defendants.

According to Bishnu Pradip Basnyal, Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office Rautahat, all those arrested have been sent to the concerned bodies for the execution of the verdict.
