National Sports Council Issues Ultimatum for Sports Association Renewal

Kathmandu. The National Sports Council (NSC) has given an ultimatum to registered national sports associations and federations to renew their registration by the upcoming Ashad 15. The council has issued a directive to associations that have not completed the process as per the National Sports Development Act, 2077 and Regulations, 2079. The NSC stated that it has taken this step after many associations repeatedly failed to fulfill their legal obligations such as constructing their organizational structure, holding periodic elections, and renewing their registration, despite multiple notices. A notice published by the NSC on Thursday states that associations that have completed the processes under Sections 22, 23, 24, and 28 of the Act must complete their renewal by Ashad 15, 2083, in accordance with the National Sports Development Regulations (Second Amendment, 2082). The council has also warned that associations that do not complete the renewal process within the stipulated time will be dissolved or face other legal action as per prevailing laws.
