Youth Found Dead in Bara Hotel, Investigation Underway

Barā. The body of a young woman who died under suspicious circumstances while staying at Gurung Hotel in Buddhachowk, Nijgadh Municipality-9, Bara, has been sent to Kathmandu for postmortem. On Baishakh 25, after receiving information that 25-year-old Sita Thing, a resident of Nijgadh-12, was found injured inside the hotel, the police sent her to a nearby community hospital's maternity home. Doctors at the hospital declared her dead. The body has been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for postmortem, said SP Narendra Kunwar of Bara. He said, 'We have sent the body to the Teaching Hospital, the postmortem report has not come yet.' Along with the deceased Thing, 18-year-old Anu Sunar, 35-year-old Mahesh Majhi, a resident of Tangiya Basti, Nijgadh-16, Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City, and 36-year-old Sunil Bomjan had gone to the hotel together. Mahesh Majhi and Sita Thing were staying in one room. The police have arrested the three people who went with the deceased. The Inaruwa Area Police Office has taken a remand to investigate the arrested individuals for crimes related to life. Majhi, who was staying with the deceased, claimed that he rescued Thing after she hanged herself in the toilet. A mark is visible on the deceased's neck. Anu Sunar and Sunil Bomjan, who were staying in another room, also told the police that they rescued her while she was hanging. Due to an injury seen on Majhi's right cheek, it is suspected that he might have murdered her during a fight. SP Kunwar of Bara says, 'We are investigating whether there was an intention to murder or not.' Police arrested Bomjan, one of the accused, from the forest near Tangiya Basti at 1 am on the morning of the incident. SP Kunwar informed that Mahesh Majhi was arrested around 4 am from Nijgadh Municipality-7.
