Government Prioritizes Sudurpashchim Province for Tourism Development

Dhangadhi. The Government of Nepal has announced to promote new tourist destinations by keeping Sudurpashchim Province in special priority in the policy and program of the upcoming financial year.

Presenting the policy and program of the upcoming financial year in the federal parliament meeting on Monday, President Ram Chandra Paudel stated that tourism will be developed by prioritizing Sudurpashchim along with Karnali, Madhesh, and Koshi provinces.

The government has set a goal to attract domestic and external tourism by developing potential tourist sites in these areas as new destinations.

Similarly, the government has also put forward a plan to identify and promote at least 10 new trekking routes in the mountainous, mid-hilly, and terai regions of the country. Through this program, the hidden tourist areas of Sudurpashchim will be identified, and employment opportunities will be created at the local level, contributing to economic prosperity, informed Bhaktasingh Thakre, Chairman of Apihimal Rural Municipality.
