Former President Bhandari Meets CPN-UML Chairman Oli

Kathmandu. Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli have met. In the meeting held at Chairman Oli's residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur on Sunday evening, they discussed Oli's health condition and the country's changed political situation. 

Chairman Oli is recovering at his residence after gallstone surgery. Earlier, when Oli was in the hospital, Bhandari had visited the hospital to inquire about his health.

'Former President Bhandari and Chairman Oli met for about 3 hours on Sunday', said a source close to Oli. 'Since only the two of them were present in the meeting, it is not clear what topics were discussed.'

Former President Bhandari has been dissatisfied with Chairman Oli for the past one and a half years after not renewing her membership. Following the extremely weak results of UML in the elections held last February, there have been calls for Chairman Oli to hand over the leadership and convene a special general convention for that purpose. However, Oli is not in a mood to easily hand over the leadership. 

It is also said that the recent gatherings in UML and the campaigns of the leaders might have been discussed between the two leaders.
