Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality Unveils Rs 68.42 Crore Budget for Upcoming Fiscal Year

Chitwan. Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality, the only rural municipality in Chitwan, has unveiled a budget of Rs 68.42 crore for the upcoming fiscal year. Presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2083/84 at the 19th rural assembly held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chairman Dan Bahadur Gurung, Vice-Chair Maya Silwal presented a budget of Rs 68.42 crore for the upcoming fiscal year.

Out of the total budget of Rs 68 crore 42 lakh 28 thousand for the upcoming year, Rs 46 crore 39 lakh has been allocated for current expenditure and Rs 21 crore 85 lakh for capital expenditure. Vice-Chair Silwal informed that the budget prioritizes economic development, social development, infrastructure expansion, forest-environment conservation, and good governance strengthening.

The rural municipality has allocated Rs 5 crore 11 lakh 82 thousand for economic development, Rs 26 crore 95 lakh 69 thousand for social development, Rs 22 crore 86 lakh 13 thousand for infrastructure development, Rs 88 lakh 71 thousand for forest and environment, and Rs 12 crore 42 lakh for good governance and institutional development.

Rural Municipality Chairman Gurung stated that programs for education, health, tourism, and promotion of local production have been prioritized in the policy, programs, and budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

He mentioned that programs for school building construction and improvement, infrastructure development of tourist and religious sites, strengthening of Ichchhakamana Hospital, and conservation of indigenous agriculture and culture have been included in the budget. He added that programs for road improvement, building construction, and other local needs-based plans under ward-level infrastructure development will be continued in the upcoming year's program.
