Roads Affected by Rain, Landslides and Floods

Kathmandu. Main highways have been affected due to continuous rain and subsequent floods and landslides in various parts of the country. According to the Nepal Police, some roads are completely blocked while vehicles are operating only one-way in most places.

The Siddhi Charan Lokmarg has been completely blocked due to floods in Daladala, Katari Municipality-14, Udaypur on Asar 26. Similarly, in view of the potential flood risk in the Kavrepalanchok section, vehicle operation on the BP Highway from Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi section has been stopped from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM the next morning.

Despite landslides and floods in various places, some highways have been resumed one-way with the coordination of security bodies. The Kantilokpath in Chapeli, Bagmati Rural Municipality-3, Lalitpur has been operating one-way since Asar 25. The Prithvi Highway at Dumping, Aabukhaireni-4, Tanahun is also operating one-way.

Road sections in Bimirebhanjyang, Madhyaneapl Municipality-10, Lamjung and Jalathale, Annapurna Rural Municipality-3, Myagdi are also open only one-way. One-way vehicle movement is also underway on the Madya Pahadi Lokmarg in Bokhim, Bhojpur and the Koshi Highway in Makalu Rural Municipality-3, Sankhuwasabha.
