Weather Forecast: Western Low-Pressure System and Local Winds Affecting Nepal

Kathmandu. Currently, Nepal is under the influence of a western low-pressure system and local winds, along with a low-pressure area near the eastern part of Nepal in the lower atmosphere, the department has stated.

Due to this influence, there is generally cloudy weather in Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. The remaining Terai regions have partly cloudy weather.

This afternoon, the Himalayan and hilly regions will generally be cloudy, and the Terai regions will be partly cloudy. There is a possibility of thunderstorms with moderate rainfall and snowfall in some places in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of the remaining provinces. Additionally, there is a possibility of light rainfall with thunderstorms in one or two places in the Terai regions.

Tonight, Koshi province, along with Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, will generally be cloudy, while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy weather. The department has stated that there is a possibility of thunderstorms with moderate rainfall and snowfall in a few places in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi province, as well as Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
