Kathmandu. CPN (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that despair and escapism are the paths of cowards during times of crisis and challenge. Pokharel has criticized the analysis that communists are in crisis in Nepal, citing the recent assembly elections in neighboring India where the communist government was removed from power.

He wrote on social media Facebook that revolutionaries work to turn crises and challenges into opportunities by facing them. 'Despair and escapism during times of crisis and challenge are the paths of opportunists and cowards. A revolutionary faces crises and challenges and works to turn adversity into opportunity,' he said.

Pokharel expressed dissatisfaction with the analysis that Nepal's communist movement is in crisis, linking it to the defeat of communists in India's Kerala state. Recalling that the government in Kerala has been changing in almost every election, he clarified that the communist alliance was re-elected in the previous election as an exception.

Pokharel stated that the future of communism in Nepal will not be determined by a single election result, but by its future-oriented agenda, activities in favor of the people and the nation, and its relationship with the people.

'The current defeat is not just a defeat of communism, it is a defeat of all democratic forces of Nepal,' he said.

Therefore, he said that the main issue now is for the forces that form the basis of Nepal's democratic movement to find the reason for such a defeat, seriously review and evaluate it, and prepare a clear plan for renaissance and reorganization to build a secure democratic future.
