57 LP Gas Bottling Plants Receive Nepal Quality Certification

Kathmandu. There are 59 gas industries nationwide. However, 57 LP gas bottling plants have received 'Nepal Quality (NS)' certification, the Department of Quality and Metrology has informed. These industries have obtained licenses after meeting the safety and quality standards set by the Department of Quality and Metrology, Nepal.

According to the recently published list, these industries have followed government standards (NS 533) in gas cylinder testing, bottling process, and safety measures.

According to statistics, the validity period of the licenses of these industries varies. Most industries have renewed their licenses from the year 2083 to 2085 Bikram Sambat. In recent times, after the government made the quality mark mandatory, gas industries have increased investment to make their plants technologically advanced and safe.

The meaning of gas industries receiving the NS mark is that the gas cylinders produced by these industries are safe and the possibility of fraud in weight is reduced. The department regularly monitors and even revokes or suspends the licenses of industries that do not meet the standards.
