Roads Blocked by Rain, Landslides in Various Parts of Nepal

Kathmandu. Floods and landslides in various parts of the country have caused obstructions on the main highways. According to the latest data released by the Nepal Police, traffic has been affected in some sections of Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces.

In Koshi Province, roads are blocked in Bhojpur, Sankhuwasabha, and Ilam. The road under the Mid-Hill Highway in Bokhim, Bhojpur Municipality-5, has been affected by floods since April 12. Currently, traffic is being operated one-way using an alternative route.

The road under the Koshi Highway in Makalu Rural Municipality-3, Newbasti, was blocked due to a landslide on the night of April 23. The road has been operating one-way since 5 AM today.

Due to continuous rain, the Salakpur section of Ilam is completely blocked. However, it has been informed that an alternative route is available there.

The risk of floods remains on the BP Highway passing through Kavrepalanchok district. However, this road has been operational since today. 

In Karnali Province, improvement has been seen in the road section of Salyan district. The Salli-Chaurjhari road section (Kumakh-2, Khola), which was blocked due to landslides, has been fully resumed since 7:45 AM today.
