Nepali Congress Vice Chairman Raju Prasad Adhikari Resigns from Party Post

Nawalparasi. Nepali Congress Vice Chairman and Acting Chairman Raju Prasad Adhikari of Pratapapur Rural Municipality in West Nawalparasi has resigned from the party. Adhikari resigned through Facebook on Wednesday.

He has resigned from party responsibilities, informing the Nepali Congress Regional Working Committee, Nawalparasi District Working Committee, Lumbini Province Working Committee, and the Central Working Committee.

In the resignation, he mentioned that extreme factionalism has been increasing within the party and the tendency to weaken each other among leaders has become dominant. Stating that he cannot participate in such an environment, he submitted his resignation addressing the Chairman of the Nepali Congress Province Working Committee Nawalparasi-1 (Kha).

Although he was the Vice Chairman of the rural municipality, Adhikari had been handling the responsibility of Acting Chairman for the past year after Chairman Gyanendra Panjiyar fell ill.

Adhikari, who has been active in Congress politics since the 2046 B.S. People's Movement, had been presenting himself as an honest worker for a long time.

Earlier, Nawalparasi Congress District Chairman Arjun Pokharel had also resigned from his post citing health reasons.
