National Sports Council Officials Removed Due to New Ordinance

Kathmandu. National Sports Council (NSC) officials have been removed from their posts due to the new ordinance brought by the government. 

They have been automatically removed from their posts in accordance with Article 2, Sub-article 1 of the Ordinance on Special Arrangements Regarding Removal from Public Office, 2083.  

The Ministry stated that the officials of the NSC appointed by the Council of Ministers on the recommendation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry have been removed from their posts. According to the Ministry, this legal provision has been implemented with effect from April 19, 2083.  

The provision of the new ordinance has automatically vacated the posts of certain officials at the leadership of the sports sector. Officials who entered the NSC at various times through decisions of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Sports have been simultaneously removed from their responsibilities after this provision.  

The Ministry has also published a notice to formally inform all concerned parties about this decision and legal provision.

However, Vice-President Dhruv Acharya had already resigned from his post on Chaitra 18. He has publicly reacted that it is not desirable to say that a person who has already resigned is removed from office.
