Three Dead in Separate Road Accidents in Terai Districts

Kathmandu. Three people, including a girl child, have died in separate road accidents in various districts of Terai. Pedestrians and drivers lost their lives in these vehicle accidents in Sarlahi, Mahottari, and Siraha. The first accident occurred on the road at Bagmati Municipality-2, Dharhara Chowk in Sarlahi. On Monday evening, an Indian motorcycle with registration number BR 33 BF 7821 hit a pedestrian, 75-year-old Hari Bahadur Adhikari, who was walking on the road. Adhikari, who was seriously injured in the motorcycle collision, was immediately taken to LS Neuro Hospital in Bara for treatment. Police said he died during treatment at the hospital. Police have taken the motorcycle driver into custody and are proceeding with legal action. Similarly, another accident occurred on the road section east of Laxmi Khola in Bardibas Municipality-4, Mahottari. On Monday night, a tractor with registration number Pr.2-02-001 Ta 2108 overturned on the road. Anil Karki, 26, a resident of Bardibas Municipality-5, Gadhanta Tole, the tractor driver, died on the spot in the accident. Police suspect that the tractor may have become uncontrollable due to high speed. Another tragic accident occurred in Siraha Municipality-17, Siraha. A motorcycle with registration number Pr.2-01-004 Pa 9347, which was going from Madar Chowk towards the customs office, hit a 3-year-old girl, Alina Khatun, who was walking on the road. Alina, daughter of Mohammad Ajaat, a resident of Madar, Siraha Municipality-16, who was seriously injured in the accident that occurred on Monday morning, was immediately taken to Neuro Hospital Janakpur. Her death occurred on the way to Biratnagar for further treatment on Tuesday morning after treatment was not possible there. The motorcycle driver fled immediately after the accident, and police have intensified their search for him. Local police are conducting necessary investigations into all the accidents.
