One Dead, One Injured in Nawalparasi Road Accident

Nawalparasi. One person has died and one has been injured in a road accident on the East-West highway at Kaligandaki Chowk, Kawasoti Municipality-8, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).

This morning, a scooter with number plate Ga Pra 04-002 Pa 2625, which was going from Phalful Chowk towards Danda, collided with the rear of a truck with number plate Pra No 2-04-001 Kha 0082 parked on the side of the road, resulting in the death of Nisha Kumal, a resident of Hupsekot Rural Municipality-2.

Nisha Kumal, who was riding pillion on the scooter, was seriously injured in the accident. She was sent to Chitwan for treatment, where she died this morning during treatment, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Yuvraj Khadka of the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).

The scooter driver, 37-year-old Shankar Shrestha, a resident of Kawasoti Municipality-8, was injured in the accident. He is currently undergoing treatment in Bharatpur, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Khadka. The police have stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
