24 Arrested with Lakhs of Rupees While Gambling in Tarkeshwor

Kathmandu. 24 people have been arrested with lakhs of rupees while gambling in Tarkeshwor, Kathmandu. A police team dispatched on the basis of information that illegal gambling and cards were being played at a resort in Tinpipla, Ward No. 3 of Tarkeshwor Municipality, took them into custody. According to the District Police Complex Kathmandu, the resort was raided on the night of Asar 30, at approximately 1:00 AM. A joint police team from the District Police Complex Bhadrakali and Police Circle Balaju recovered 9 lakh 80 thousand 285 rupees in cash from the gambling den. Along with the cash, the police also recovered 3 decks of cards and 44 cowrie shells from the scene. Further investigation is underway at the Balaju Police Circle against the 24 people taken into custody while gambling, informed Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police at the District Police Complex Kathmandu.
