Contract Employees Protest Government's Outsourcing Plan

Kathmandu. Contract employees working in 18 ministries staged a sit-in protest in front of the main entrance of the Ministry of Finance in Singh Durbar on Tuesday, alleging that the government is preparing to remove contract service employees and hire staff through outsourcing.

They demanded the decision be reversed, stating that the government's preparation would make the employment of thousands of employees working in contract service for a long time insecure.

The protesting employees urged the government to ensure their service and stop the decision to implement the outsourcing system.
