APF Club Wins First 'Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital Chandragadhi Women's Gold Cup'

Jhapa. The title of the first 'Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital Chandragadhi Women's Gold Cup' football competition, held today at the Mechi Stadium, has been won by the Armed Police Force (APF) club. APF clinched the title by defeating Tribhuvan Army Club 1-0 in the final.

With the title, APF received a cash prize of Rs 1.1 million, a trophy, medals, and certificates, while the runner-up Army had to settle for a cash prize of Rs 500,000. Rashmi Kumari Ghising scored the decisive goal for APF's victory. In the 72nd minute of the match, Ghising headed in a pass from captain Anita Basnet into the net.

APF's Saru Limbu was declared the 'Player of the Match'. She received a cash prize of Rs 11,000. APF's Renuka Nagarkoti was declared the best player of the tournament. She received a cash prize of Rs 100,000.

The best goalkeeper was APF's Anjana Rana Magar, defender Gita Rana (APF), midfielder Deepa Shahi (Army), highest scorer Rashmi Kumari Ghising (APF), and rising player Sabnam Rai (organizer Chandragadhi Youth Club) were declared. They each received a cash prize of Rs 25,000.

The competition, which began on Baisakh 5, saw participation from Tribhuvan Army Club, RS Pokhara Football Club, Bhutan's Thimphu City Club, Church Boys United, Nepal Police Club, organizer Chandragadhi Youth Club, India's Laxmi Ranibai Sports Academy, Armed Police Force (APF) Club, Sankata Football Club, and Okhaldhunga's Padma Sports Club.
