Iran's Foreign Minister Meets Oman's Sultan in Muscat

Muscat. Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held talks with the Sultan in Muscat, the capital of Oman. According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Iran's state broadcaster, the meeting took place on Sunday. 

The meeting was held at Al Baraka Palace, located on the outskirts of Muscat. During the discussions, both sides exchanged views on the latest situation in the Middle East and efforts to end the ongoing tension between Iran and the United States-Israel.

Oman has long played the role of a diplomatic mediator in the region. In particular, Oman has served as a diplomatic bridge for dialogue between the United States and Iran. 

Additionally, Oman controls the southern part of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, which is a highly sensitive maritime route for global energy supply.
