Bulldozers deployed to clear squatter settlements in Thapathali

Kathmandu. Bulldozers have arrived at the squatter settlement in Thapathali. The machinery has been deployed to remove unauthorized squatter settlements located on public and government land along the banks of the Bagmati River. 

Following the arrival of the bulldozers in Thapathali, police have entered the settlement and are using public address systems to issue warnings house-to-house. Police are actively working to evacuate all residents, while the bulldozers remain on standby.

Security in the area has been tightened. A large number of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Municipal Police personnel are currently deployed.

According to the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Force, the squatter settlements are being cleared starting with Thapathali, followed by Gairigaun later today.
