Preparations Underway to Clear Squatter Settlement in Thapathali

Kathmandu. Final preparations are underway to deploy bulldozers in the squatter settlement located in Thapathali. The operation is scheduled to begin after 8:15 AM. Currently, the local residents of the squatter settlement are actively moving their belongings. 

According to the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Force, the squatter settlements are being cleared today, starting with Thapathali followed by Gairigaun.

A large number of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Municipal Police are currently deployed. According to the Municipal Police, the bulldozers have not yet been deployed because the locals are moving their belongings themselves. Earlier, there were preparations to start the operation from 6:00 AM.
