Kathmandu Prepares Relocation Plan for Squatter Settlements

Kathmandu. Preparations have begun to manage the housing for residents of squatter settlements in various areas of Kathmandu, including Thapathali.

Following the government's plan to clear squatter settlements, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, the Ministry of Urban Development, and the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, are working to arrange temporary housing for the local residents.

The displaced citizens are initially planned to be taken to the Dasharath Rangasala in Tripureshwor. A high-ranking official of the metropolis stated that after screening them there, they will be sent to designated locations for temporary residence.

According to sources, three locations have been identified in Kathmandu for the temporary housing of the squatters. However, these locations have not been made public yet due to security sensitivities.

Emergency Executive Meeting at the Metropolis

Meanwhile, an emergency executive meeting has commenced at the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. According to a ward chair of the metropolis, the executive meeting is currently being held to discuss the management and security of the residents of the squatter settlements. Although previous executive meetings were broadcast live, today's meeting is not being broadcast.
