Birgunj Metropolitan City Initiates Relief Process for Road Expansion Victims

Birgunj. The Birgunj Metropolitan City has initiated efforts to provide relief to property owners who have become completely landless due to the expansion of main roads.

In a notice issued on Friday, the Metropolitan City called upon citizens who became completely landless after their houses and huts were demolished using bulldozers within the 25-meter area on both sides of the highway to submit their necessary details.

The Metropolitan City aims to collect data to provide relief to those who were displaced due to road expansion and have no other land elsewhere in the country, rendering them completely landless.

The Metropolitan City has requested all affected individuals to submit their details along with necessary evidence within 30 days. The data collection process is being initiated in accordance with the decision of the District Disaster Management Committee, which met on Thursday under the chairmanship of the Chief District Officer of Parsa District Administration Office.

Metropolitan Mayor Rajeshman Singh stated that after verifying the details received, the Metropolitan City will recommend the federal government to provide relief to the fully affected citizens.
