Birgunj Metropolitan City Declares Mourning Holiday Following Employee's Death

Parsa. Birgunj Metropolitan City has declared a mourning holiday today. The holiday was announced to express grief over the passing of sanitation worker Krishna Mestarni, who was employed by the metropolitan city.

Mestarni passed away on Baisakh 4. He had been working as a permanent employee at the metropolitan city since Poush 9, 2064.

The metropolitan city has paid tribute to the late Mestarni and expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. A memorial service was held in his honor on Friday at 10:30 AM in the metropolitan office premises. The event was attended by the Mayor, Administrative Chief Sunil Kumar Karna, and other staff members.

According to Administrative Chief Karna, all services under the metropolitan city, except for essential services, will remain closed today.
