Nepal Weather Update: Partial Influence of Westerly and Local Winds Expected

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently under the partial influence of westerly and local winds. As a result, partial cloud cover is observed in the mountainous and hilly regions of the country, while the weather remains mainly clear in the Terai region.

This afternoon, the hilly and mountainous regions, including Koshi Province, will experience generally cloudy conditions, while the Terai regions will see partial cloud cover. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning and snowfall in some places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province, the hilly and mountainous areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, the mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as a few places in the Terai of Koshi Province.

Hot days are expected in the Terai, valleys, and gorges of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, with a potential heatwave in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, the mountainous regions of the country will remain generally cloudy, the hilly regions will have partial cloud cover, and the weather in the Terai will remain mainly clear. The Department has stated that there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in a few places in the mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
