Nepal Weather Update: Partial Influence of Westerly and Local Winds

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing a partial influence of westerly and local winds. As a result, the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with other mountainous areas, will remain generally cloudy.

This afternoon, the mountainous regions of the country will be generally cloudy, the hilly regions will see partial cloud cover, and the weather in the Terai region will remain mainly clear. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning and snowfall in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Hot days are expected in the Terai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in valleys and gorges. A heatwave is also possible in the Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, partial cloud cover is expected in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province, as well as the mountainous regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. The Department has stated that there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province.
