Inland Revenue Office Janakpur Collects Over NPR 3.97 Billion in Nine Months

Janakpurdham. The Inland Revenue Office here has collected NPR 3.97 billion, 67 lakh, and 4 thousand in revenue during the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

Office Chief Anand Kumar Gupta stated that against a target of collecting NPR 4.33 billion, 82 lakh, and 77 thousand for the nine-month period, the office successfully collected NPR 3.97 billion, 67 lakh, and 4 thousand.

According to Chief Gupta, the total revenue breakdown includes NPR 1.14 billion, 94 lakh, and 52 thousand from income tax; NPR 3 crore, 18 lakh, and 99 thousand from rental tax; NPR 6 crore, 17 lakh, and 85 thousand from interest tax; NPR 81 crore, 94 lakh, and 20 thousand from value-added tax; NPR 1.88 billion, 85 lakh, and 71 thousand from excise duty; NPR 3 lakh and 10 thousand from health service tax; NPR 1 thousand from education tax; and NPR 2 crore, 52 lakh, and 66 thousand from other sources.

Meanwhile, Chief Gupta noted that action has been initiated against 125 business firms for failing to pay taxes on time. Following the public notice of these actions, 10 firms have already deposited NPR 4 crore and 30 lakh. There are currently 166,652 taxpayers registered with the Inland Revenue Office.
