Nepal Weather Update: Partial Influence of Westerly and Local Winds Continues

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing the partial influence of westerly and local winds. As a result, the mountainous regions of the country are generally cloudy. The hilly regions of Koshi Province are partially cloudy, while the weather remains mainly clear in the rest of the country. 

This afternoon, the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will be generally cloudy. The mountainous regions of the remaining provinces, along with the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, will experience partial cloudiness. 

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning and snowfall in a few places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi Province, as well as the mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Hot days are expected in the Terai, valleys, and gorges of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces. A heatwave is also possible in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi Province and the mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces will be partially cloudy, while the weather will remain mainly clear in the remaining mountainous, hilly, and Terai regions. The department has stated that there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the mountainous region of Koshi Province.
