Home Minister faces scrutiny over controversy

Kathmandu. During the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, questions were raised regarding Home Minister Sudan Gurung.

After the issue concerning the Home Minister was brought up during the meeting, the Prime Minister stated that he would make a decision regarding the Home Minister at his own discretion.

It has been stated that before the Council of Ministers makes any formal decision on this matter, the Home Minister himself will come to the ministry to provide a briefing, after which necessary decisions will be taken. A minister mentioned that the Home Minister will now discuss the matter at the ministry and take an appropriate decision.

The Home Minister's name was linked to businessman Deepak Bhatta, who has a controversial reputation, following public reports regarding a dispute over share investments.

Home Minister Gurung has already provided a clarification regarding the questions raised against him.
