Four arrested for multi-million rupee foreign employment fraud

Kathmandu. Police have arrested and publicly identified four individuals accused of swindling millions of rupees by promising lucrative foreign employment opportunities.

The arrested individuals are 25-year-old Mithilesh Kushwaha from Baudhimai Municipality-7, Rautahat; 44-year-old Kedar Bahadur Bhandari from Bhojpur Municipality-7; 53-year-old Ramtula Miya from Surunga Municipality-5, Saptari; and 55-year-old Sunita Khatri from Suryabinayak Municipality-7, Bhaktapur, according to Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Karki, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.

According to the police, the arrests were made based on complaints from victims who alleged that Mithilesh took 350,000 rupees promising a job in Kuwait, Kedar Bahadur took 125,000 rupees for a job in Portugal, and Ramtula and Sunita took 350,000 rupees promising employment in Albania before cutting off all contact.

Spokesperson Karki stated that all four suspects have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation and legal action.
