Rain disrupts first T20 International between Nepal and UAE

Kathmandu. The first T20 International match against the UAE has been affected by rain.

The match was halted at the TU International Cricket Ground after rain began while Nepal was at 122 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 18.5 overs. 

Meanwhile, Nepal has set a modest target against the UAE. When the play was stopped, captain Dipendra Singh Airee and Sandeep Lamichhane were at the crease. 

For Nepal, captain Dipendra Singh Airee was the top scorer. Among other batters, Kushal Bhurtel scored 16, Kushal Malla 17, Bashir Ahmed 14 off 11 balls, Arjun Saud 13, and Sandeep Jora 6 runs. Reliable batter Gulshan Jha was out LBW for 1 run. Nandan Yadav, who scored 13 runs off 6 balls, was out while attempting a long shot on the seventh ball, while Sher Malla was caught out on his very first ball. 

Nepal is playing a two-match T20 series against the UAE at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

With this match, Nepal has introduced a new captain and a new team in T20 cricket. This is also the first international match Nepal has played under floodlights. This is the first time Nepal has played in this format since the T20 World Cup held in India two months ago. Hemant Dhami made his T20I debut in today's match.
